College Life

My advice… don’t overthink it. Plan ahead. Enjoy yourself. Go with the flow. Be patient. Be silly. Make friends. Don’t freakout!! Be you. Have fun! Take it seriously, but not too seriously. Let yourself laugh. Just relax. Be kind. Help others. Study hard! Set goals & crush them all! #1: Never give up! You got this. ❤

I’m an official surg tech student!

Hello all!! It’s been quite awhile since I’ve been on here to make an update. The photos above are from August 2020 to now February 2021. They’re a mix of BIO & ST. It’s been so busy around here with the Spring semester starting up. I’m finally getting some hands on labs for my ST program & it’s been such a blast!

Below are more photos from this semester. February-April 2021

Summer 2021

I never though I could enjoy Microbiology so much, but I was super sad to be done with the class. I had never used Bunsen burners. I had to take my own matches just to start the flame. Then doing the lab unknown was quite fun since it was like figuring out a mystery. I love that type of stuff. And while the process didn’t go perfectly, I still figured out my unknown & got an A+! I was super proud of myself. I finished all of my gen eds and just have my last year of lecture & clinicals! Fall can’t get here soon enough!

FALL 2021 is HERE!! Clinicals will be starting in a few weeks!! WOOP!!
Photos loaded from the most recent first.

CLINICALS are here!!…

1/31/22 – It’s been a hot minute since I updated this page… so here goes…

And that ^ is my first clinical semester in photos! Here goes my 2nd (& last) clinical semester… there will be fewer photos since I’m scrubbing in, setting up & not breaking to get photos. 😦 I may add some others have set up as examples tho…

7 weeks into my second semester of clinical. Next, I am going to an ortho ambulatory surgery center my first day, then doing heart surgery my second. After that is Spring break, then our instructor said we will be going down to 1 day of clinical a week. I cannot believe we are so close to graduating!

I didn’t take any photos, but ORA was so different and went by so fast! Everyone was so considerate and made me feel so comfortable. They threw me right into the mix of things & had me scrub in & set up & pass… they were so patient with me since it was a new and different experience for me. They really understood what I was going through in that aspect that I was out of my element & wouldn’t be able to just know what to do. They didn’t expect me to know it all. I loved it so much and just appreciated them and how much they thought about it from my perspective. ❤

50 days until I’m a CST! I already have a job lined up & I’ll be starting in June after I take a short break in between. The next step is to meet with the staff & talk with them. I’m back at my original clinical site where I’ll be working after graduation & they’ve already started training me. I can’t believe it’s gone by so fast & I’m almost done.

You guys, I graduated 6 days ago!! Only 19 days until I’m certified!!
