O.R. Tour. Work Life. COVID & Our Healthcare Workers. ST Week.

For those of you keeping up on my blog, you know that I work in dietary. Thursday I worked the #4 shift, which is delivering trays to the surgical floor (+ the behavior health unit) & the CCU floor, which is my favorite! I work from 6:15 am to 2:45 pm. On my way home from class on Tuesday the coordinator called me & set up my O.R. tour for after work on Thursday. I was super excited. That day was a long day, though. We had 2 fire alarms that morning, only one working elevator and everyone trying to fight over that one elevator. It was a hot mess!

I had also been delivering trays to a patient that had been there for a few weeks, pretty much since I started working in the CCU…

Week 1. Semester 4.

Hello everyone!!
I’m super excited to be back in class!
We started the 23rd.
It’s crazy to think we are already on our 2nd & final year.
You don’t realize how fast it will go, but it flies.
In a few weeks we will be starting clinicals…
I’m nervous but really looking forward to it!!

I’m Done!

Today was my last official day at Sauk doing my general education classes. I never thought these past 2 years would go by so fast or that I would enjoy it so much! I also made it through Pharmacology with an A, so I have maintained my 4.0 GPA in the surgical tech. program. Now I only have 1 year left at Black Hawk before I graduate as a CST. Holy crap!
